I bought the new Switch 2 to do a full disassembly to see what's different, what's the same, and what potential problems we might need to watch out for. | TronicsFix

One of the things I've really been looking forward to is tearing down the new Switch 2 Joy-Cons to see how they are different than the previous Joy-Cons. I even took one of the analog sticks apart to see what it's like inside. Which I do not recommend as they're not meant to be taken apart and may not work correctly after being taken apart. | TronicsFix

When starting to diagnose this Nintendo Switch it would charge but nothing would show up on the screen. When I opened it up there was obviously liquid damage and whatever the liquid was left things pretty gross. Also, I could tell something had it apart already and had not put things back correctly. I spent quite a bit of time cleaning things up. I also reconnected a capacitor and replaced the game card reader. My Nintendo Switch repair videos: https://www.facebook.com/watch/1394635077450140/148

This is just my opinion and I don't have a way to positively confirm sales numbers, but the gaming industry appears to be making BILLIONS of dollars selling replacement controllers because they are intentionally using inferior parts that wear out, sometimes in a matter of months. Today I'm walking you through how to safely clean your Nintendo Switch 2 in 3 stages: from a quick surface clean to a full deep clean. (Yes, we’re even replacing the thermal paste.) It's surpising how quickly the dust and gunk builds up. So honestly, how close are you to needing to clean your Switch 2? I made 2 orders from DK Oldies - one I bought myself and one was purchased by a secret shopper (in case DK Oldies has my name flagged). I bought 2 PS4s, a Switch Lite, and a few controllers and I'll be inspecting what I got for each order and seeing if there are quality differences between them and also if I find any issues. | TronicsFix

So this one didn't go as planned. I was excited to find a "broken" Switch 2 at a second-hand store but it wasn't what I expected. Luckily I had another broken Switch 2 that I bought off eBay that had a bit more wrong with it: a broken thumb stick and a non-functional SD card reader. | TronicsFix

Nintendo Switches can take a beating… but sometimes they’ve been through way too much. Back in 2024, I picked up two broken Switch consoles: one that survived a house fire and has a bunch of internal corrosion, and another that won’t dock properly and has a drifting, worn-out analog stick. So in this video, I’m tearing them down, cleaning them up, replacing what’s broken, and seeing if we can bring these battle-worn Switches back to life. iFixit cleaning kit: https://geni.us/cleaning-kit Joystic

The seller said this Nintendo Switch 2 went through the washing machine! I'm expecting liquid damage, of course, and the kind of liquid damage that might not be fixable. But I'm still going to give it a try and see if I can get it working again. Broken Switch 2 Video from a thrift store: (will be posted November 7) | TronicsFix

I found these two broken special edition Nintendo Switch OLEDs on eBay and had to buy them to try to get them working again. The Tears of the Kingdom Switch has a charge issue and won't turn on. Plus, whoever worked on it before wrecked the controller rail ribbon cables. The Pokemon Switch charges fine but won't turn on. It has a broken screen so I'll need to find an OLED with a working screen to swap the parts into. | TronicsFix

Back in 2023, I paid $80 for this broken blue PSP. It's a fairly rare handheld but it wasn't working because a repair shop had tried to repair it by replacing the screen but ended up causing more damage. Initially the PSP wouldn't even turn on and I found it wasn't put back together correctly. There were also things that needed to be fixed on the motherboard before I could bring this handheld back to life. One of my viewers sent me this Steam Deck because playing it was negatively impacting his life. The handheld mostly works, but it’s far from perfect—the R1 button is broken and the analog stick needs replacing. It's also pretty grimy and could use some cleaning. My goal? Fix it up so someone else can enjoy playing it. Let’s bring this Steam Deck back to life. | TronicsFix

I bought 3 Switches and 4 Switch Lites as part of a larger lot and I paid $105 each for them. They have a variety of problems including broken buttons (of course), messed up thumb sticks (of course), screen issues, and game card slot issues. I also replace the case on one. I Bought a BROKEN Halo Edition Original Xbox. The seller said it works fine but won't read a disc. Sure enough, the disc drive won't spin up fully. So I try replacing the laser lens assembly to get it working. Fairly easy fix, right? Or maybe not... Do any of you have an Original Xbox that you still use? Even though this is from a while back, I still can't believe the repair shop didn't fix this Xbox properly. The seller of this Xbox Series X took it to a repair shop for HDMI port repair but after spending $400 it only worked for about a month before it went back to not showing an image on the screen. So I take it apart to see if we can figure out what went wrong. And get it working again, of course. | TronicsFix

The seller told me they only had their Switch 2 for one week before it stopped working. They sent it in for a warranty repair but Nintendo refused. So they sold it to me to see if I can fix it and if I find anything that looks like liquid damage. This one really surprised me! The seller told me he tried repairing this ROG Ally but he was ultimately unsuccessful. He also said it had never suffered liquid damage. But ASUS disagreed - they claimed there was liquid damage and refused to fix this handheld. So I bought it to see for myself: Is there any liquid damage? And, liquid damaged or not, can I bring it back to life? | TronicsFix

Four of my viewers sent me devices that they tried to repair but weren't able to - to see if I can get them working again. Two Xbox Series S consoles, a Nintendo Switch Lite, and a Nintendo 2DS XL. I paid $700 for this rare, special edition white Xbox. Only 1,000 of these were sold and it was a Japan exclusive so I was really excited to be able to buy it. It won't fully start up and the hard drive is making clicking noises but I'm hopeful I can get it working again. ►TronicsFix Discord: https://discord.gg/tronicsfix ►Tools & Parts I Use (paid link): https://www.amazon.com/shop/tronicsfix ►TronicsFix Game Console Repair Forum: https://www.tronicsfixforum.com/ | TronicsFix

$275 to Fix this PS5...WHAT???! My viewer took their PS5 to a local repair shop after the HDMI port broke. The shop charged them their normal fee and then later an additional fee to try to fix the console but were never able to actually get it working. So the console was sent to me to see if I can figure it out. Send Us Your Broken Console: https://tronicsfix.com/pages/viewer-electronics-repair-submissions | TronicsFix

I bought 4 "refurbished" game consoles from Temu so I can see what the condition is on the outside and then open them up for a thorough inspection of the inside. Hopefully we can see what is so "refurbished" about them. The four consoles are a Switch Lite, a PS5, a Switch OLED, and a Nintendo 64. | TronicsFix

I bought 23 broken Nintendo Switches for $1,955 to try to fix them and make money! I thought I'd be able to repair a majority of these Switches... but I was wrong. While I am able to fix common issues like diagnosing and replacing the M92T36 charge chip, P13USB video chip, and liquid damage... some of these Switches are just too far gone. Do you have a Nintendo Switch? What issues have you had and did you try fixing them yourself? If you're needing a USB power tester check out the PowerJive Mete
