Want your trucking authority activated? Don’t skip the BOC-3. It’s one of the first, and most essential steps. The BOC-3 assigns a process agent in every state you operate so legal documents can reach you properly. Without it? FMCSA won’t turn your authority on. Period. Plenty of third parties will file it for you (often bundled with your MC number), but you can not assume it’s automatic.
