Underwood’s Cafeteria has been a Brownwood tradition since the 1930s, when M.E. Underwood began selling BBQ door-to-door during the Great Depression. Over the years, the family expanded across Texas, with Morris Underwood introducing the now-famous cafeteria-style dining. The Brownwood location, opened in 1951, remains the last Underwood’s standing, serving delicious, home-style meals inspired by Mama Underwood’s scratch cooking. Today, Leo and Paul Underwood continue the family legacy, ensuring
