Relievers from Dodgers & Blue Jays all wore number 51 on their caps to honor Dodgers LHP Alex Vesia, who was away from the team with his wife during the series.

Alex Vesia is receiving support from his Los Angeles Dodgers teammates as he takes time away from baseball for a ‘deeply personal family matter.’ On Monday, Oct. 27, several of the team’s players were seen wearing Vesia’s number on their caps amid their World Series battle with the Toronto Blue Jays.

For the final two games of the 2025 World Series, the Toronto Blue Jays joined the Los Angeles Dodgers in honoring pitcher Alex Vesia, who was forced to take a leave of absence from the Dodgers to attend to a personal family matter.
