Samsung's impressively thin book-style foldable phone is just 4.2mm thick when open and weighs 215 grams. But is that enough to justify its $2,000 price tag?

In comparison, past Google Foldables are rather chunky beasts. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold isn't quite as bad as the original Pixel Fold, and its 5.1mm unfolded thickness means it's actually thinner than the Z Fold 6. But it's still thicker and heavier than the 4.6mm/7.5 ounce Galaxy Z Fold 7.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 seems to be thinner than the HONOR Magic V5, at least based on these two experiments.

Samsung has just unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and it finally catches up to foldable hardware from rivals (and then some).

The Z Fold 7 is overall slightly taller and wider than its predecessor, which results in bigger screens. The new foldable has a 6.5-inch AMOLED Full HD Plus (2,520x1,080 pixels) cover display, up from the 6.3-inch AMOLED Full HD Plus (2,376x968 pixels) cover display on the Z Fold 6. Both models have 1 to 120Hz variable refresh rates.
