Two older non-animated films also were theatrically rereleased this weekend. The 10-year-anniversary of Trainwreck and the 25th-anniversary of The 40 Year Old Virgin also made it to 800 screens each (however, neither brought in over $35,000 or broke the top 20.)

Farther down the charts, Focus Features released the Ethan Coen dark comedy “Honey Don’t!” in 1,317 theaters, grossing $3 million. The film, which stars Margaret Qualley as a small-town investigator who looks into murders tied to a mysterious church, has been tepidly received with Rotten Tomatoes critics and audience scores of 45%.

The sing-along version of the animated film "KPop Demon Hunters", which has become a cultural phenomenon, topped the domestic box office this weekend, in what appears to be a historic first for streaming giant Netflix .
