The Miami Heat defeated the Boston Celtics, 100-96, in the NBA 2K26 Summer League at Cox Pavilion on Monday.

The upshot of the Heat’s summer-league victory Monday night against the Celtics was that meaningful boxes were checked off.

Despite Walsh's poor decision-making, it would appear that Joe Mazzulla was a fan of the fire and fight that Walsh displayed on the court. When speaking to reporters in attendance after the game, Walsh shared a message Mazzulla had sent him via text.

There’s some question marks for Lillard’s fit on the Celtics, given he needs the ball in his hands to be somewhat effective, but if he’d be willing to come off the bench, which again, doesn't sound too likely, it'd be intriguing to see what Boston could do on the offensive side of the basketball at all times throughout a game.
