George Michael ’s ‘Father Figure’ has been reimagined by one of the world’s biggest artists. On her latest album The Life of a Showgirl, Taylor Swift takes the much-loved 1987 hit and flips it on its head, turning the once romantic song into a cynical look at power within the music industry.

George Michael's estate released a statement about one of the most anticipated track's on Taylor Swift's soon-to-be-released album: “Father Figure."

Taylor Swift pays tribute to George Michael with “Father Figure,” featuring an interpolation of his classic hit of the same name. It’s Taylor’s latest era, and the showgirl is paying tribute to another groundbreaking musician of his own era.

"We had no hesitation in agreeing to this association between two great artists," the late singer's estate notes ahead of Swift's new album.
